MELANGE transforms colouration practices in the European interior textile industry by moving colour design from the end to the beginning of the manufacturing process.

Today, the industry typically treats colour as something applied at the end of the manufacturing process to achieve uniformity and replicability, at massive costs of water, energy, and chemicals.  

MELANGE sees variation as a desirable signature of uniqueness, not a defect.

MELANGE develops low-impact, fibre-stage colouration technologies and practical guidelines to help designers, industry and policymakers adopt new aesthetics and a more sustainable way of working with colour.
